- County Court at Law No. 1 (Judge Amanda Matzke) and County Court at Law No. 2 (Judge Roy Brantley) handle probate
- E-filing mandatory for attorneys since January 1, 2014
- Self-represented parties may file in person or by mail
- $500 ad litem retainer required for guardianship and heirship applications
- Effective December 4, 2025: Valid ID required for all in-person document filings (per Senate Bill 16)
