Probate Filing Fees
South Carolina probate estate filing fees are statutory and uniform statewide under S.C. Code 8-21-770(B): a minimum $25 for estates under $5,000, rising by gross probate estate value to $45 ($5,000-$19,999), $67.50 ($20,000-$59,999), and $95 ($60,000-$99,999); estates of $100,000-$599,999 add 0.15% of the value over $100,000, and estates of $600,000 or more add 0.25% of the value over $600,000. The fee is assessed on the gross value shown on the inventory and appraisement. Use current South Carolina statutory fee rules and direct Darlington County Probate Court confirmation before quoting filing totals. The county page lists marriage-license and copy fees but does not publish a complete probate estate fee schedule.
