Guardianship
A guardianship is a court case in which a person who is not the parent of a child asks for custody of the child, the power to manage the child's property, or both.

Cases where child has been removed from home by Child Protective Services social worker because child is being neglected, abused, or is in danger. If child is dependent or ward of juvenile court, guardianship must be decided in Juvenile Court.
